In Memory of my Mother,

“My mother was completely unselfish.
Who I am....my love, humility, loyalty, kindness and devotion to family is because of her.
Every time I hear a new born baby cry, I will think of her. My children, and their children’s children share her soul.”
"Goin' home, goin' home,
I'm a goin' home;
Quiet-
I'm jes' goin' home.
It's not far, jes' close by,
Through an open door;
Work all done, care laid by,
Gwine to fear no more.
Mother's there 'spectin' me,
Father's waitin' too;
Lots o' folk gather'd there,
All the friends I knew,
All the friends I knew.
Home, I'm goin' home!"
"A loving heart, is the purest wisdom.”
Charles Dickens
These two men had a profound impact on my life. Carmen Chiodo, Sr., and Carmen Chiodo, Jr.
Carmen, Sr., passed on Oct. 16, 2008. Mr. Chiodo was the stepfather I never had. His son and I were best friends, brothers. I always admired them for their good hearts and integrity.
Gina, Carmen’s daughter, allowed him to be buried next to me in my family plot.
“Life is made up of small comings and goings,
and for everything we take with us,
there is something we leave behind.”
