The Greg Husby Family

When I was thirteen (13) years old (1969), my Mom wanted me to try out for a role in a stage play (Babes in Toyland), at San Jose City College (CA). It was a bit overwhelming. A very large auditorium, with over a couple hundred in attendance, merely for try outs. My mom had taught me, “The Impossible Dream,” (Robert Goulet version / click). She had written the words down and I memorized them.

I remember being scared as hell, as I walked up the stairs. A piano accompanist had been provided. I sang this song. I was notified a few days later that I was given the acting part of, “Rodrigo.” It was the biggest thing I had ever been involved in, in my life. It took a lot of guts to stand up there and sing this song. Thank you, Mom. I have tried to live my life by these words. I hope my kin will as well.                                                                                                                                    Greg Husby
